"Beginners" is proper
"Their" was an awful mistake. Must have come from early draft. Also watching tv so I missed it.

HA! The guy Voltaire skewers in Candide?

Oh. Well, I didn't buy that one.

I do have The Candide though. ..Also I think my brain is frying in this heat.

Recent purchases:
Voltaire's Candide
The Portable Hannah Arendt (Would have preferred to find On Revolutions, but later)

A month ago, yet to read:
Kafka's The Castle
Garibaldi, Inventing a Hero, by Lucy Riall
The Age of Reason, by Thomas Paine
The Gnostic Gospels, by Elaine Pagels

Eyeing the discussion at the start of the thread, I too can't seem to get away from looking into the spiritual subjects. The Gnostic book I read some of years ago, and it helped me out of my Christianity. More recently I found Paine, and his deism still interested me enough to buy.
I'm an atheist, but own no Dawkins or the OPs Hitchens book, but maybe someday.
