Are there any realistic Sci Fi books? I despise the concept of humanoid aliens. Like Star Trek, they look like mutated humans rather than extraterrestrial beings.

I would like one where humans are at war with these aliens. And humans too have spaceships?

Hey /lit/, what are some good sci-fi books that feature stuff like space exploration or just alien planets and such?

I'm not looking for anything too incredibly hard sci-fi, don't read many books so entry level stuff is fine. Just something that isn't confined to one planet, a story where the characters really do some exploring and find fantastic worlds, not necessarily finding them first but allowing the reader to experience them as a fresh new world with the character feeling the same way, instead of a shit load of exposition about how they've been there before and so on.

Thanks.

Are you part of the sci-fi reading master race, or do you read inferior genre's ?
