To be able to look at past work with nothing but contempt is a sign of progress, for better or for worse. I actually just received note today of my poem's being greenlighted for printing, and I'm actually tempted to tell them to fuck off since I hate it so much now. I submitted it two months ago, and my style's changed considerably since then. You're a different person after having finished your piece than when you started, dont forget that. Humility is essential in publishing for other people's desires. You'll never make it in this field if you can't even get to the point where the rejection letters are stuffing your inbox like a Thanksgiving turkey.

I used to be like you. You just need to experience more of the world to unlock your creativity.

Taking baby steps is good, man. Having a routine for writing is a good practice to have.

"Deutches Requiem" and "The House of Asterion" are pretty good. "The Library of Babel" is up there as well.

I'm being genuine when I ask this: What's the appeal of "Tlön, Uqbar, Orbis, Tertius"?

I've re-read that story about five times now, just to give it a fair chance, and it's still painful to get through every time. I don't want to say that it's his worst story in the event that I'm just not understanding it.
