Hey guys, /k/ here, I'm starting to get older and would like to bond with my dad. He's big into pulp sci-fi but in his youth he really really really liked Dune. What's something that's not too heavy or long or hard to read but also isn't complete alien war porn? I'm criminally under read but I always like Kurt Vonneguts style with at least an attempt at a message or at least something to stop and make you think. Any ideas? I'll take whatever you got. Is there something like cryptonomicon but 300 pages? Shit I dunno.
