How edgey is Gideon the Ninth?

Is it full cringe edgey or just subtle edgeyness done in a mature way?

Thinking of reading it next but I'm not sure, edgelord shit makes me cringe unless it is done in funny way.

Wait bros I thought the hugos were all pozzed trash? This was actually, aside from annoying reddit dialogue at times, good. The whole young people together for some crazy ass lethal test thing reminds of Red Rising in a good way. I'm genuinely surprised I actually enjoyed reading this to the point I feel bad for pirating it because i thought itd be trash

Anybody got a recommendation on books about lesbians set in some fantasy/magic world with a coming of age theme?

I dont have a high floor on what i will read, from the many lesbian fanfics i read.

I recently read Gideon the Ninth and while i didnt dislike it, i dont know if i will read the next book in the series be. Reason being (big spoiler): fucking Gideon is dead (probably not) and there was no payoff on lesbian stuff, i am mostly pissed about this book for all the missed opportunities to sprinkle in mushy loveable lesbian shit

Anybody read it? I sure as shit haven't.
