There is nothing wrong with masturbation. Religion and social constructs made us embarassed and guilty of masturbation, which is sad.

In the same way, we are embarassed and guilty of not thinking and somehow meditation is seen as a bad thing.

I recommend both meditation and masturbation to sustain anyone's mental and sexual health respectively.

That is because you have a boring life in front of the computer and you are trying to protect yourself from engaging into anything, because you are afraid of change, afraid of not being in control, afraid of being hurt, afraid of what you don't know. So instead of feeling, you remain neutral, instead of saying something that you might consider to be stupid later, you hold no opinion whatsoever, instead of gaining something to lose it later, you prefer not to gain anything at all.

But everything changes, and it will hit you too. When this day come, you'll be surprised. So learn to adapt yourself. Adapt yourself. Don't rush and don't slow down, go exactly the speed you need to be.

When you begin considering, with all emotional honesty and maturity, to feel something, you'll begin to feel it. And this will be horrible at first, but you'll learn how to do it and lead a life with a little less anxiety and apathy.

Listen to me on this.

Jesus Christ dudes, I'm trying to ease your doubts on the subject (because you were asking it), not trying to prove anyone wrong here.

Death is the end of life. They don't see death as the end of everything, because even that is transitory. But it is indeed the end to your money as you won't be able to use it, that was the example.

What's more important: author intent or reader perception?

Should the intended purpose of a novel or story be considered more important than the personal meaning that someone places on the story?

Is one artistic and the other not?

Dear /lit/,

What are your top ten favorite novels?

Like, say you're stranded on a desert island and you only have 5 books you can read... but they MUST be books you've read before. Which books would you pick?

For me it would be:

-Crime & Punishment
-Catcher in the Rye
-A Brief History of Time
-Pick Me Up!
-Everything Bad is Good for You

[first of all, pic unrelated]

I thought this might be the best place to start asking this question, for it good be too early to place my faith in /b/. I remember there being a word in the wonderful English language for someone who incessantly uses the same word throughout a day, or simply quite often. I think you have the idea though. Any help out there?
