Pattern recognition, abstract thinking, subtext, hidden meaning, irony. All of these have a minimum threshold to understand, most people will meet it. Recognizing these things without another person pointing them out to you requires a far higher mental ability that most people will not meet.

It has moved well beyond the 1970s. If you read more literature you would not need to make vague and untrue generalities on an obscure board.

It is incredibly useful. Failing to realize this is implies a lack of understanding of how it works and how it is used.

I'm not that anon. But exposure to toxins and other environmental factors can indeed influence mental ability. But not in the way you think. Every single ethnic group has had all manner of situations that can decrease brain-function over time, Africans by stark contrast have had the lease, being largely left alone in their mud huts for generations longer than the rest of the world. Outside of Africa we overcame lead, asbestos, mercury, mining and worse.

According to your position Asians and Europeans should be worse off as they have suffered these toxins since before Rome. Sub-Saharan Africa, by contrast, has been spared much of these affects because of their completely lack of industry, development and ability. Native Americans too should reflect this, but they do not. Africans and Native/First Peoples are amongst the most lacking in problem-solving and mental abilities.

>hierarchies of ability.
They can not exist in a Democracy, if this was an anti-democratic state wherein ability was the only measure I would be inclined to agree. However in a free market these are largely obscured as there is no sure way to observe them. Metrics for competency and ability are completely owned and controlled by financial interests who have no intention of releasing their monopoly on them.

These can only work on a small, local scale outside of dense population centers. Because the greater market has not been able to control them.

>libertarianism is all about them in a very fluid way.
Libertarianism is the subversion of natural hierarchies as one can use money to subvert, buy, lie, cheat and steal one places. Further there is no need to be seen doing good, only that the message is that you are doing good.

There are some caveats, like Fascists are for private property, the farmer can pass it on to his son upon his death. But, should the son fail to deliver any resource from the land entrusted with him or worked against the interests of the people, he will be replaced with a worthwhile individual who would assume sole responsibility for the farm and would then pass it on to his son.

>can you say what kind of experiences he describes?

It's all manner of things from his experiences studying law in Iași and organizing student fighting forces to his later life as Căpitanul of the Legionary movement, a Orthodox-Fascist movement. It has newspaper clippings and speeches from those influential to him. I'd strongly recommend it. Also found out the Romanian and Italian languages are around three quarters mutually intelligible.

Any fantasy with elements of the Roman Empire in it? I know there's Codex Alera but that series was sort of hit and miss with me.
