Is it a good book? By that I mean is it biased very much or talls about the holocaust every 2 sentences. I'm looking for an interesting history book on this topic. But I want it to be nonbiased and not mention jews and holocaust and trying to emphatize with jews or any of that shit.

Is this book good for learning history of Nazi Germany or is it not worth reading?

Alright, so apparently this book is a meme and is outdated. What would you recommend to read instead on the same topic? Some of Ian Kershaw's bibliography? Or is the book still worth reading despite the apparent flaws?

Any input would be appreciated.

Shirer is so annoying. Usually i like authors butting in and giving their opinions but shirer is such a fucking dimwit.

Just finished this

-too long
-useless information for laymen (dates and times, irrelevant discussions)

A massive and comprehensive book yes, but way too packed for a layman and especially for a reader who doesn't know all that much about Hitler/WWII.

Q: What are some better A, books about hitler and B, books about world war 2?

Any good? I know people say it's more of a journalistic work than history

Is this a good book?

What does the cover look like under the dust-cover for the hardcover edition?

Yo, /lit/, I'm looking for a good book on the history of Nazi Germany. Pic related is obviously the first thing that comes to mind, but l think l remember seeing some people on here calling it biased and not too reliable. Any thoughts on it?

I'm also interested in Richard J. Evans' Third Reich trilogy. How does that stack up against Shirer?

Oh, l've seen some Hitler biographies in a bookshelf thread some time ago, but l can't for the life of me temember the name or the author. Two volumes, the first one cheonicling his rise, and the second his time in power and downfall. Ring any bells? Thoughts on them?

Thanks.

>be a journalist
>actually be there right in Germany and witness Hitler's rule first-hand
>write what is regarded as the best book on Nazi Germany ever written
>historians get so buttblasted about this that they refuse to recognize your book as a history book just because you don't have the academic credentials

So, do you regard this as a history book or not?
