Newfag here. Honestly, I haven't read a non-technical book in years. When I was a kid, I used to read a lot, I liked Harry Potter, Jules Verne, Alexandre Duma, Dostoesky, Dickens. Don't really remember a lot from them but I tought whatever I understood was cool. Now when ever I try to read a book, in 10-20 pages i'm bored and I want to do something else. Meybe it's because spending years with short term gratification has made me lose my attention spam. Also, I read so insanely fucking slow, at least compared to what I see other people finishing a book in a week. Partly I think it's because I'm doing a PhD in AI now, and I read almost only scientific papers. These math papers are at most 10 pages long and packet full with terminology and info. If I don't go as slow as possible I don't pick up anything. So what do?

I kinda want to read 1984 since hitchhikers guide since it's rammed so much as good books. Are they memes? If you got any better books, I like depressing stuff that's got bittersweet ending.

>reading about Buddishm on Wikipedia
>clicking on all the links about deity's

That shit gets complex.

All these deity's are connected, then you end up on some page where the deity is listed, and it's grouped under a bunch of deity's, then that group of deity's has a bunch of other deity's in it that are also grouped under a different term. Certain deity's also appear in different cultures and in that culture are also from a different sub-group because they have a different meaning, and all of this shit has its own wikipedia page.
It's basically one big Asian clusterfuck.

Never knew that shit was so neato.

Drugs, psychedelics in particular.

That's the only relief that I've found.
You can read all you want but this will probably have an adverse affect, because you will see that suffering is an integral part of life.
It almost seems like depression is the only truthful state to be in, how could one not be depressed looking at life.

>inb4 exercise/see a psychiatrist

Exercise pretty much just releases 'natural' drugs, and a psychiatrist will also prescribe you with drugs.
(That is not to say you shouldn't exercise because you should keep your body healthy.)

Might as well do cool ones drugs.
Psychedelics like DMT and shrooms are also know to have positive 'spiritual effects', if you will, so there's that.

That woman is doing the exact opposite of what the media, culture and radical feminism is telling her to do.

She's closer to freedom than they realize. And they feel insecure because they see some value in what she does.

I never resonated with this "life's so meaningless" phrase. Even at the lowest points in life I still saw reality itself too baffling to assume my feeble human mind could conceive what the whole of reality had to offer. I always same something more going on than just an accidental abiogenesis.

I find that most existentialist/nihilist minds suffer from an overblown sense of self if anything. There's this firm belief in everything being meaningless.
If it's all so useless, why isn't your opinion?

>durr but leaps of faith are for the weak

No, you not taking any leap whatsoever explains this type of response and is what makes you weak. That's probably what your whole life is and has been.
