In a sense it's just digital art. Or shitty "put a photoshopped person the cover". I remember in particular cover of Croatian Fellowship of the Ring stuck with me for some reason.

It's either abstract shit or "character strikes a pose". I miss when actual artists worked on covers. I remember really liking Croatian Fellowship of the Ring cover. Aside from jester looking Legolas.

I remember someone selling fantasy classics in Croatian on ebay at one point. Fellowship of the Ring (if I got it right) cover was absolutely amazing. Someone derpy Legolas notwithstanding.
