Do you want something to entertain you? To take your mind off of everything? The Discworld series is very uplifting. Great escapism.

I was feeling very anxious and depressed a few months ago - to the extent that I found it hard to get out of bed at all. I blitzed through Always Sunny in Philadelphia (I know it's a tv show but bear with me). It was really helpful because usually in sitcoms & tv shows the main characters start off pretty rough but their lives get better as time goes on, making you reflect on your own life and how shit and unproductive you are in comparison. In Always Sunny everyone is an asshole and their lives never improve. Also after watching loads of episodes they start to feel like your friends. It's a good show for the miserable.

Also if you have free healthcare get some counselling because that will actually help you. You'll learn how to deal with self destructive behaviour and depressive moods.
