Which version of the bible should I buy?
I'm considering the Oxford annotated bible. Some people have mentioned the KJV edition. A friend claims some other version is the correct one.
I'm not a christian, so I have no idea.
My aim is to understand the tenets and historical context of this religion from an insider's perspective.
So which version should I get bros?

What is the point of reading literature, which is by and large irrelevant to the modern day? For example, who cares about societal relations and class structure in Russia in the 1800s as portrayed/conveyed in War & Peace? How is that supposed to affect me as an American in the 21st Century?
