Just came back but like a lot of people you ignore context just not with the verse itself but the whole bible.The Word is Jesus and it's basically just saying he's godlike, not god literally. The following verses explains this:
>In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was with God in the beginning. 3Through Him all things were made, and without Him nothing was made that has been made
So who is most like God? Jesus obviously. If you think the word is god it doesn't make any sense. God is eternal. God can't have a beginning
>Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God
Same chapter explains it's Jesus

Also shows up in Rev 19:13

God can't bleed so how could he get hurt in any way?
