Perhaps you are blessed with a loving family that you can rely on and good friends with whom you have a mutually supportive relationship but we aren't all so lucky.
Humanity has existed a certain way for thousands of years, namely relating to family, and only just in the last 30ish years it's being flushed down the toilet.
You can't expect us to adapt to these drastic changes so quickly and not encounter a level of dysfunction or unrest.
