Is there a word or phrase that describes the oppression of natural human behavior through indoctrination and technology? I'm talking about things like trying to call your bank, but their office is on the East Coast, so you have to call them at 5AM before you go to work, and before you can get a hold of a real person you have to go through an automated service, and once you do get a hold of a real person you get put on hold. That's just unnatural. What that force is it feels antithetical to human existence. In Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance the author referred to it as a "death force." I'm wondering if there is perhaps a word or phrase that more accurately describes what I'm talking about.
