Hello /lit/,

Newcomer here. I'm graduating soon with my master's degree and have finally started reading leisurely again. I'm reading The Picture of Dorian Gray at the moment.

I was just curious if you had any recommended and reliable resources to improve reading comprehension and visualization (i.e. preferably backed by science)? I loved reading when younger, and I read at a level higher than most of my peers. However, during high school, reading just didn't seem to be as enjoyable anymore (perhaps I just didn't look hard enough for the right literature). And in college I only read for classes and basically never for leisure. I feel as my comprehension and visualization skills when it comes to reading have definitely waned over time.

How do you "visualize" when you read. How "clear" are the images in your mind. Is your comprehension simply linked to how well you visualize? Are there strategies and tactics that are worthwhile? Is it as simple as "read more?"

Thanks,
Anon
