How do you approach unfinished books? I got 115 pages into Atlas Shrugged a few months back but couldn't take it anymore. I want to finish it, but most of what I read didn't stay in my long term memory. My options seem to be

A) start reading at p. 115, knowing I didn't really read it all the way through and can't remember much of who did what.

B) start over and lose all that time I already invested.

any other options besides kms?

Thoughts on Ayn Rand ? Is Atlas Shrugged worth reading?

Do people here hate this book because they don't believe free markets work? Aka commie socialists

If Ayn Rand was alive today she would look at the way society is and say "I told you so."

What do you guys think about this book? Is it any good? What is the author right about and what wrong about?

I honestly haven't read Stirner, but I'm familiar with Ayn Rand's view of Egoism.

I think it's important and good, but self-esteem and self-love is only the first step in my opinion, and Rand doesn't ever really expand her philosophy beyond the self-love, because she rightfully acknowledges that it is so important.

After you accept the virtue of selfishness, that's when things get complicated, and I often lose my footing.

So... I'm at the part where the super smart and rich, too good for anyone female protagonist is about to have sex with the super smart and rich, too good for anyone latino.

All I want to know if the Jon Gault reveal will be worth it.

I just got done reading pic related and all I have to say is that, well, I think Atlas shrugged is beyond underrated

The way she details characters is remarkable, the way Rand constructed the world is so close to how bad our world is, it's almost terrifying, and the plot twist with Galt is almost Shakespearean in how revolutionary this book was to international politics and the way humanity views culture

The one book plebs tout when they feel like blaming the world for their shortcomings.
Regardless of that, however, what's /lit's opinion on Atlas Shrugged? Is it Gold or Turd? Cast your vote and elaborate. Or not.

Was hoping for some Molyneux-tier philosophy and provocative thought, not some sappy love story. Does it get better, /lit/?

I read a bit but it quickly put me to sleep, will give it another go today but I wonder if I should just return it pick up something else instead.
