How terrible a sin is it to read translations of Joyce's work? I'm interested in reading Ulysses at some point, but feel that my English isn't fluent enough to understand it like a native would. I would read a Finnish translation.

I've been always fascinated by Sartre, after reading notable philosophy works I picked Being and Nothingness and I enjoyed as a kid!!
I remember when my father red us this book before going to bed, but I couldn't understand much then. Now I'm and adult, I choose Sartre as my spiritual guide and his magnum opus as my Bible.
Seriously, he helped me to overcome my depression, you just got to read!!! It is clear.
I've learned French just to read La Nausée in its original, often I narrate the book to my 16yo gf and she faints, that's the power of the dialectique, of the existence, splitted up from my mouth to give her a temporary coma.
The adventure of reading started on me with absurdists, I love you Dad, RIP, but it was the Sorbone people who made books my shelter and I should thank to the potterheads too, for helping me during my psycho stage (that was a crazy one) flipendo desu~
