Books where the protagonist find himself in depressing, terrible situations yet doesn’t really give a fuck? Shrugging of life’s predicaments with his nonchalant ‘’ c'est la vie ‘’ attitude? If its funny even better.

Pic sorta related.

Read Charles Bukowski, universal soulmate to all 9-5 shit eaters and misanthropes. Plus he makes you laugh at his trials and tribulations, making a circus out of his own pain.

>Born into lower middle-class home with abusive parents
>gets beaten up by dad every day for most of his childhood and early teenage years, during the great depression nonetheless.
>gets acne conglobate in teens, whole face and body gets filled with comedones, nodules, abscesses, and draining sinus tracts. Ends up with a plethora of scars and pock marks afterwards, and the shittiest complexion.
>basically an incel, his only friends being weirdos that cling to him trough his childhood, or old drunks he hangs out with in his teenage years at night when he sneaks out.
>alcoholic
>leaves parents’ home after a fist fight with his dad, roams around city to city taking low wage salaries during the war
>spends most of his life working low wage, blue collar jobs like in the post office, filled with drudgery and misery
>spends his money on alcohol, the race track, and prostitutes
>constantly writing poems, short stories, and occasionally gets into a fist fight or two

In his fifties he made it with his magnum opus ‘’Post office’’. And afterwards lived the rest of his life as a famous author, living of his works, and getting pussy thirty years younger than him on a regular basis. I genuinely suggest you read him if you find your situation unbearable, maybe you will think twice about it and get some inspiration.

Hang in there OP.

>blue collar alcoholic gimmick.

No, I’m pretty sure he was just a blue-collar alcoholic. Keep in mind he wasn’t recognized before his fifties, his whole life couldn’t possible have been a gimmick, considering there were nobody to sell this image too. But he was probably aware of it (and profited from it as a result) in his later days, and to some extent his fans hyped up his image too by bringing him alcohol at his readings.
