Don't get me wrong, "the" bible is an epic collection and all, necessary reading for any body that truly desires to comprehend wat the fuck is transpiring upon this planet at the moment, but to actually still in all honesty call yourself a Christian- are you fucking serious right now?

I realize the "chrystcvkc" thing is a bit of a meme right now, but pic related is literally Christianity. If you're still claiming that title without a cringe, you are the fool who is fucking this civilization to death right now, you idiot.

Normie aesthetics.

Normie poetry and rap almost always inverts the priorities so that fun stuff (rhyme assonance consonance alliteration) are at the top and highbrow stuff are at the bottom.

I wonder if these anons answers amount to a reaction of disgust to contemporary culture or if they sincerely developed their tastes through reading old poetry.

I hear answers like that in other threads sometimes, so I find them interesting. It seems like the 4chan consensus is *almost* always contrarian to whatever is actually popular. But then the 4chan consensus becomes popular, and 4chan, disgusted with the popularity of its opinions, digs further into esoteric contrarianism.

Thank you.
My dad called me gay and said I should get a job. Sometimes I go into rage and punch at my mom. She say "Why your goobie out?", this angers me. I swing.

I have read most of the Bible (including the genealogies) but have never gotten past Paul's letters. I find the Bible much more of a page turner when it is a narrative and thus I also found the Prophet books difficult and mostly skimmed and skipped.

Anyways even though I am not Christian I really want to read and get something out of the Pauline epistles. Any advice or companion texts that would interest me and/or help me better understand them?

It was cool that after reading the Greeks, the letters are often named after Greek cities but that is the only thing that peaks my interest and every now and again, I read something from Paul that seems cool.

What order should I read them in, how they are in the Bible? And of course without a contest, KJV is necessary.

Start with the OT, the NT is much more boring and repetitive than sections of the OT, although you should read the NT too.

Read Genesis, Exodus, skip or peruse casually the next three books, read Joshua to Kings 2. Again skip or casually peruse Chronicles. Read Ezra to Job. Read some psalms, especially 23 and 151. Read Ecclesiastes and Song of Songs (all at once) and half of Proverbs at your leisure, especially the first 10 chapters. Everything after that in the OT should be skipped except Daniel, and Jonah. Maybe you should peruse Isaiah so that you can know about Christian interpretations of the OT.

Now the NT, read the gospels. Read Q, and some of the gnostic gospels if you're feeling crazy. Acts is necessary and then read selected letters of Paul and then speed read Revelations.

This is good advice. I've been memorizing a long book in another language and now I find my memory is better overall for texts. If I try to memorize poetry, it is a lot easier and though, review is always necessary the more I practice the more it sticks easily. If you increase your memory like this, you don't even have to try to memorize everything, you'll just remember things easily even if you're not trying. I would recommend trying to memorize some poetry you enjoy with a good rhyme and rhythm.
