All formal education is just a means to an end. Whether in STEM or in humanites, only a small minority of people partake because of a genuine intellectual fervor, a deep-seated passion or, at the very least, a strong persistent interest in their field. The hoi polloi are there for extraneous reasons and at the end of the day, "I need to provide for my familly" or "I want to be able to experience more in life" are both much more honest and respectable reasons than "tfw to smart to be le cog in the machine" or "I want a degree, but I'm bad at math". Deep down most humanities students know this, which is why they're in a state of constant cognitive dissonance between their self-image as bohemian wise men indifferent to all things material and the harsh reality of being vainglorious flotsam and jetsam of society. Hence the ressentiment.

>Because now you will have two different versions of the same word which you will have to remember, for example. I also fear it would mess the intuition on grammar and the language in general that you get from constant exposure to it
Are you monolingual? Knowing another language does not interfere with your ability to know another, even if it's an earlier stage of the same language. See this post >>21891088 as to why this is a non-issue.
>This could be done but yes it would be easier learning the modern English first.
It could be done, no doubt, but in practice it's absurd. I'm just applying the same logic to Latin and Greek. It's like saying that you're too good to interact with the people who directly inherited these languages and seems just like the thing an ivory tower academic would do.

That looks like a man but if it was actually a girl I'd fuck it.
