In the spirit of TES, again, see attached image.

How do you guys go about meeting interesting, engaging people when you move to a new town or city?

I haven't yet reached that hermit stage in which you fall out of practice interacting with people your own age and as such fall into a deeper and deeper rut, but I've done it before and I know I still have it in me and I'm trying to avoid allowing my situation to progress to that point.

What I've been doing is hitting up artsy and hipstery communities and areas in my city, looking for people with mutual interests, and binge-Tindering. I'll be starting up with work soon, and I hope that that will make things easier. But how else can I approach this?

I feel that it's made more difficult by being a little odd and a little too well-spoken and having unusual interests. Where can I find other non-basic, non-retarded people that I'm not looking?
