I agree with the analysis - however, I have to disagree with the universality that your post implies.
If you're 30 and look around at your job, you'll find that most (more than 50% anyway) of the men are in relationships or married.
Not all men enter the game of trying to get with a girl that actually looks great - most people (men and women) go together and stick there.
There's many girls who are essentially submissive and just hope for a man. It's not good that through tinder they get the chance of fucking guys hotter than them and then get a standard - but overall, if you say "in this day and age", then this actually only applies to people who read reddit, twitter or 4chan.
