I just read Tarrou's speech from The Plague and it made me think of Nietzsche, how to consent to his philosophy is to consent to murder. And also of Burroughs, who I feel was honest and it made me wonder if his honesty about such things as control, rape, and violence was paid for with the price that he himself had taken part in those very things? Also I am fascinated by his idea that language is a virus, and that a language virus became a literal thing--a computer virus, a meme. What do you guys think of all this?
