What's going to happen is, very soon, we're going to run out of petroleum, and everything depends on petroleum. And there go the school buses. There go the fire engines. The food trucks will come to a halt. This is the end of the world.

I'm going through a bit of a mindfuck right now, I was hoping someone could shed some light on.

I'm reading Philip K Dick's Ubik. About three-fourths through after time regresses to WWII era, the main character, Joe, exclaims, "Well, so it goes." This immediately brought to mind Slaughterhouse Five, which similarly deals with time travel to the same period.
I figured this allusion was intentional, and actually pretty amusing. But I checked Wikipedia, and both novels came out in the same year. I can't find any commentary on this parallel on Google, but I figured it worth sharing. Maybe there's some history I'm missing out on here.

also this book is really good :3

I'm fourteen and looking for some entry level literature. I'll take anything really, although I'd prefer more modern novels (20th century preferable)

Pic related, inb4 underageb&, etc

Hey /lit/

I'm looking for that word that describes when at the end of a piece of literature, drama or film, the conflict is resolved and the audience is pleased.

Pathos came to mind but that wasn't it.

In return, I'm dumping some pictures of libraries and noteworthy people.

Hey /lit/, can you suggest me some good books of romantic poetry? I don't want any "roses are red, violets are blue" type stuff, just some real and meaningful love.

thanks, but I was high when I wrote that.
If you have any plot suggestions, I would really appreciate it, chief.
