There Will Be Blood is ultimately about capitalism, power, and how these things destroy us and everything around us. Daniel and Eli are two heads to one dragon, which is power. Daniel is power through economy and Eli is power through religion. The whole film is follows the fight between these two forces in the American landscape, the result of which is Daniel finally killing Eli after years and years of repressed resentment, symbolizing how the capitalists' thirst for power have led it to consumed an inauthentic brand of Christianity, with which it feeds off of the good intentions of normal people just getting by.

What I'm saying is choose not to be Daniel, get off the back of the dragon. Be an atheist and take the world for what it is, but the world doesn't dictate how you act, how you feel, how you go about your daily life and interactions with people.
