What's /lit/'s opinion on The Remains of the Day? We had to read it in class, and I have mixed views upon it. The theme strikes me the most -- how the butler is dehumanized by his work and about the wrong choices he has made, wheareas the writing style of the book... seems pretty dull and endless. What do you think?
