He said that the rise in depression was due to capitalism, and his evidence was that when capitalism has a downtown, it goes into a "depression". That's right, his evidence was a pun.

His entire analysis on mental health was based on a bogus study that claimed more capitalistic countries have more depression. Nevermind that their measure of how capitalist a country is was totally arbitrary (hint: I don't think they hired translators to translate statistics from Mogadishu), and they didn't adjust for depression being diagnosed more frequently, and cherry picking the countries in the study, and also that they included "trouble with nerves" (whatever that means) under the depression umbrella. And nevermind that he outright said mental illness should be politicized, which sounds anti science to me. I explain all this in my video. Just skip to chapter 5

The current left has a diametrically opposed view to Fisher. While he says we can't come up with an alternative, Bernie Sanders is trying to promote a new "Democratic socialism" (which has actually been aroundsoccer the 1800s).
