>required reading in the 60s and 70s but irrelevant today
>teenagers misguidedly brag about reading it
>it's complete dogshit
fits the bill pretty well I think

Just finished this, let's talk about it. Spoilers, duh!

Why was Snowden's death so significant?

Why didn't Milo get punished for bombing the base except for being the cheeky cunt he is?

Good choice. That's one of my runners up along with Infinite Jest and Portnoy's Complaint, but Catch-22 will always be my favorite since I read it at a formative age. My first experience with postmodernism

I have a 2000 word essay due in seven hours and I only have 104 words so far.

I have to use the principles of Division and Analysis as discussed in The Bedford Reader.

My topic is Catch-22, the novel. THIS IS NOT A REPORT.

1) A book (childrens, young adult, or adult). Your thesis will be an analysis of the book--Did it achieve its purpose for that audience? How so specifically? If not, then why not? If it is a good book, so what? If its not good, so what? who cares? Note--do not argue TASTE, or preferences, which are subjective predjudices. Try to have an actual analysis of the book--contents, theme, language, art, writing style, etc. Don't use a religious text for your topic--faith-based analysis is not what I am asking for here.

Please help me, /lit/
