I'm 19 and if for some reason someone found out i read they were always shocked.Sometimes they were impressed (just by the fact i read not even because they could distinguish whether or no the books i read were intellectual or not) but not very often most of the time they laughed.But i don't think people my age will ever read unless they are trying to get there shit together like as part of some self improvement kick.Personally whenever i like something from any medium i always just wish it was a book.Anyway i think it has probably always been the same.Its always been a small percentage that read/read seriously
