It somehow gets worse the more the actual plot starts developing. Extremely tonally inconsistent as well. Like I said, he went all in on the "le worldbuilding" and just throws all these concepts out there, but the world ends up becoming just too crazy to support its own story. For example, there's a clear leftist anti-authoritarian motiff and the government and militia are these authoritarian villains, but in a world THAT crazy and filled with so many monstrosities and abberations, anyone normal would actually be begging for any semblance of authority and control and support virtually any junta.
