Honest interest and IQ filtered
IQ: impoverishment does not follow from a literally post-human economy
Interest: you didn't think the machine can help you write

The lectures sound like a good place to start, being in oral, thus simpler form. Thanks anon. I'll keep Althusser in mind.

>>19558669
Sounds like a good intro. Why don't you like Foucault, anon?

>>19558704
Why Nietzsche and Heidegger in particular though? Can you elaborate on why you think those are important to understand Foucault's works?

To anyone else responding I can read French, so if you know some intro to Foucault in French (or some work by him) with no English translation it's welcome

We’re on a nice cusp fr tho. When the boomers die the floodgates open to a new insincerity.

The Ego and the Id after Interpretation and Intro Lectures, the latter two give you an introduction to the Unconscious and its machinations, as well as a basic outline of the theory of Neuroses. Ego and Id is short, concise and highly speculative/theoretical. It deals a lot more with the possibilities that the Unconscious opens up and the development of the Oedipus Complex, Secondary Narcissism and the entire ideational strata of sexuality as a function of memory retention. Also some really interesting analyses of the Super-Ego in there. After that you could read Civilization and Its Discontents, Totem and Taboo, Moses and Monotheism, if you are interested in Freud's takes on sociology, anthropology and their interconnection with his theories. If you want more case-study type shit you have his collection of those. For a more advanced version of the intro text you can read his later revised intro lectures. That should be enough to get you started before you have to delve into his more esoteric works, lectures, letters, etc....

pic quote is 100% spot-on. reminds me of Nietzsche's prediction that a lot more hot sunlight is going to shine on wet jungles...the biggest monsters are yet to evolve.

where do I start with Agamben? Yes, Schmitt obviously. Is that enough or do I need to do Foucault?
