My earliest memories of Dickens was my father reading a junior companion version of Oliver Twist. It is such a super read.

To those of you who went through or are currently taking any college-level English or Literature classes, how much would you say you've learned as far as actual reading goes? Disregarding how much more you know about the history or classifications of literature, how much more value do you get out of a book now than you did before? Do you feel like it was valuable to your understanding of literature?

This is purely for my own curiosity.
