NERV's megalomania much resembles those of the allied scientists at the White Visitation and the Nazi ones at Peenemünde. Roger Mexico and Jessica Swanlake's doomed, war-fueled relationship resembles that of Misato and Kaji. Tokyo-3 getting btfo by Angels beyond their comprehension is similar to London getting btfo by Angels, especially how both cities seem to have come to terms with death and are fully mobilized.

There's actually a lot of parallels between Gravity's Rainbow and Evangelion.

the imagery in EoE is really interesting. so many people relate to it very deeply in very distinct ways. I see a huge metaphor between many of the characters and my own experiences as a teenager, and I know people who see metaphor about their own lives within the film in a completely different structure. Interesting piece of art.
