Also I've looked up how is the new, seemingly most complete and accurate translation to my native language is going (only three volumes have been re-translated so far, I've picked an older one for S&G; similar situation with Moncrieff in English) and discovered that the translator has no interest in going further because she "doesn't know why she needs it", seemingly alluding to the homosexual themes, completely missing the point in how the newly discovered gaydar changes the outlook of the protagonist, adds another layer of perspective and, most importantly, explains De Charlus's behaviour from Part 3. A vile woman
