So zizek's deal pretty much is he's always saying how God threw himself into his own chaos and blah blah but here of all places he forgets the dialectic. It don't stop there m8 it's a fucking double movement that's the whole point of the Christology to become God in the same way that God became man you can't just stop there and say okay I'm gonna be some stupid metaphysical atheist, you fooled yourself you shit, that's what happens when u try to know God without the purgation of the will you require everything of him require him to show himself to the point where you begin to see him in his not being there.
That's the zizekian Mistake™

You say that now, but will you do in your moment of doom? Your feelings alone won't give you the strength of martyrs, whatever rules of goodness and civility you hold for yourself have to be grounded in something absolute otherwise you will destroy them with your own hands in due time, people are monsters such as that.
By convictions and beliefs I assume you mean political views and religion respectively, don't fool yourself, these things have done nothing but bring mankind up from out of the mud, hatred is the natural state of man, and things such as politics and religion are inherently unnatural. Politics and religion may cause conflict, as what is true cannot coexist with what is false.
To stop conflict you have to first stop the search for truth, and this is suicide, it would be a return to the mud from whence we came.

Violin, guitar, programming.
I don't call them hobbies though, I do each of these things as if I were born solely for their respective purposes.
Currently three movements into biber's rosenkranz sonaten, feels gud.

No. Over perceiving can though.
What "fucks you up" is the mental habit of ceaselessly navigating the maelstroms of your own psyche, and being aware of every cognitive movement you make along the way.
You close yourself up in your own mind, and sooner or later the universe starts to look like a little snow globe, meanwhile the shadowy figures occupying your consciousness become more and more real and begin to torment you.
What's missing from you is love; love is the self-imparting force which closes the distance between the universal and the particular.

>And get trapped in the maze of philosophy and religion?
You're already trapped.
If you weren't, you would be happy.
Personally, I think you're a shitter, anyone who brackets religion as mere "bullshit" is an illiterate shitter.
I do think you're on the right track, that you care about knowledge is proof of this.

>it is the world that is truth
Words belong to the world, they are made up of matter.
Now, you may not believe that unconscious matter can exhibit binding power regarding spiritual matters, and I wouldn't blame you, but since being is convertible with good and by extension truth and beauty, and since all contingent things proceed from a subsisting principle of existence which is ultimately love, then words, in as much as they are an accretion of things over time (billions of years presumably) which have had regard to love, proceed also from love and by love contribute to the instrumentality and consummation of all things, and do contain truth in this strict, indirect sense.
The paradox is that your perception is not the same as your being, you have an interior as opposed to the exterior and they are different somehow.
The same goes for being; if the logical positivists were right, then being wouldn't differ from non-being, but what logical positivists don't take account of is that, without realizing it, they have invented their own little world where this is in fact the case because everything is thought of as abject from experience, ignoring the fact that in the real world being -is- different from non-being because our perceptions and thoughts are one with our experience and so divorcing them is nothing but a convenient way to trick yourself into believing that your own made-up empirically verifiable model is the extent of reality.
