So, the shentral theme in Albert Camus' 'The Stranger' is not the lack of meaning as such, but the nature of deshire. Noam Chomsky has referrred to post-modernist and post-structuralist philosophers like Lacan, Derrida, Zizek and others (although unmentioned by him I'm assuming Deleuze would be a prime candidate as well) as charlatans with nothing real to contribute to discourse other than mystification of simple ideas, he attributes this phenomenon to the French culture that these movements have grown out of. Which side of the fence are you on /lit/? Who's side do you take?
