That said, I'm not particularly cynical about the motives of Western/Continental philosophers, and they have produced some brilliant insights. I'd favour the analytics, but if you're interested in developing your own capacity, you should still engage with the opposing perspectives. Just be careful not to get trapped in the semantical, always try to understand the most basic essence of what is being discussed.

What is so fascinating about "video essays" is that the person's appearance invades the subject matter.
We realize, no, this man/woman/thing cannot sit down and write an essay or a piece of journalism like an intellectual is want to do to prove anything, this man/woman/thing has to resort to memetic editing and "academic poster boy visuals" to put her point across.
2 minutes in and not continuing further I can only assume as a substitute for me not attempting to rebuttal whatever this shit is (my, or any other written efforts lost)

It's like trying to convince a hedonist with 10 years of drug abuse that being "sober" can train your mind to find life more beautiful without drugs. This is impossible because the drugs have done so much damage to their heads (see men and porn etc.) that they cannot comprehend a life of coherence, looking through glass without a filter etc.
People like this never break into being spectacular characters because, like the greeks realized, to understand something, you need to deconstruct it. That's never going to happen when everyone of your "philosophical" quandries is smeared with "how does this relate to my pre-existing experience of liking cock up my ass."

Alright so I don't really read anything at all, but I was kinda nominated to read something in my college class on Tuesday. We all have to do it in order to show the teacher where we're at when it comes to giving presentations. I have to be able to convey tone and connect with the rest of the class.

I'm also really shitty at presentation because I absolutely hate speaking to people. Any advice on that or a passage that'd be good to read?
