Desperately need a book

hey /lit/,

i need your help. this weekend i get the chance to take part in an job interview to work one year in the anne frank house in amsterdam. i really really want to get the job but i heard about the job some weeks ago and i was busy in school and wirting the letter of motivation.
now, my real problem is, i never read the diary of anne frank in school. i will read it, if i get the job. till tomorrow i will read as much as possible about it on the internet. however, can you help me and tell me everything you know about the book? and what could they ask me about the book?

Johnny Maybell at one point took his life much too seriously. He was old when he was young, and because of this never had the chance to grow up. He had never flowered, and had never attained what was attained by most men just as their flower began to wilt. What is adulthood, but a return to seed. Now Mr. Maybell was not old, but he had lived enough life to make a lifetime, and a lifetime was all Mr. Maybell had.
On the day in question, It was a bright, and young, and nubile, and pink morning in Saw, Kentucky when Mr. Maybel awoke, fresh and hard, fresher and harder in fact than he had been in years. He sat up, looked at his wife, smiled at his wife, and got out of bed. Mrs. Maybell continued to sleep as soundly as she was apt to. In any case it was much better than when she slept during the day, when she was prone to night terrors . When Mr. Maybel put his feet down he knew it was some of kind of a lucky day because his left foot had landed magically partially in on oh his bedside slippers. They were pink rabbits, milky with age, and Mr. Maybell had drawn a small cartoon rabbit with a chisel sharpie on the heel.

The Diary of Anne Frank: does it have any literary merit, or do people just like it because the jews tell them to?

Do you /lit/ers have an opinion on her diary. I know it is really famous and am quite interested in the holocaust.
