I'd really appreciate feedback on this. Thanks, brahs, do your worst. It's a sample from a story I'm writing titled "Ashram"

Crit, /lit/.

Rescues

We'll grasp towards what's too far,
and all that's behind us leaves only want.
Because you, like me,
look only into the distance,
never at what's at our feet.

Let's live by where they take us,
live by what we say;
let's not run away.
Because the truth is that
what little was within our grasp
could know much more deserving hosts,
could name so many days when we
forgot the lives we swore to lead.

Here's an excerpt from my novella which is almost finished. Does it peak the interest?

“The stimuli will be recreated persons from the subject’s dreams, supplemented by his memory. Each night, Ethan will fall asleep and the computer will gather the required data, using it to create a physical model in the house. The behavior of the reproduction will be an almost perfectly accurate presentation of what the subject perceived it to be from interacting with the actual person in the past. This is where memory will come into play. We’ll need his memories to fill in the gaps. We can’t base the AI’s behavior – or physical appearance – solely from the subject’s dreams.

“Then, upon waking, the subject will interact with the reproduction. At our first meeting Mr. Walter had a bit of apprehension towards the idea, but we gave a more in-depth explanation of the nature of the reproductions which abated his anxieties somewhat. I imagine there are still some, but I assure you now, Ethan, they are unfounded. You’ll more than likely find the reproductions very pleasant, as they will essentially be the people you know and love the most.”
