Why do people still think this novel portrays a dystopia, often even while actually contributing to a world that moves in it's direction?

Any chance of some feedback on my story, I want improvements more than anything:

I recently read A State of Art by Iain M.Banks, it's a group of Sci-Fi orientated Short Storys and poems.

Could someone suggest some decent poems/poets and short stories.

Any ideas for a research paper on Brave New World? I need to write about a theme, and I'm sick of writing about stupid shit like "freedom" and "technology."

I'm closing in on the End of Brave New World and I was wondering /lit/'s choice.

Would you prefer to live in a civilization deemed "perfect" and happy with little to no problems because they have been eradicated and you have only a sliver of free will and your short lived unhappiness could be cure with a drug?
or
Would you like to live in the imperfect world where you cope with the problems and live a normal life of choice and real "free will" the choice to be unhappy and deal with the worlds grievances an having freedom?

If you had a choice what would you take?
