All the literature recommended is post modern trash or has bloated prose that takes away from the enjoyment. Is there anything like Hemingway but patrician?

Today I finished The Old Man and the Sea and I've also read his other 3 major novels. After I read A Moveable Feast, is it worth it to read all of his other stuff, or should I move on to another author? What's a good author to move onto?
