What the fuck is it with /lit/ and the Count of Monte Cristo, anyway? It's an OK yarn, nothing more.

OP - I'd start with Les Trois Mousquetaires and then the rest of the D'Artagnan romances - they're his best, most enjoyable work. The Black Tulip is also very good.

Dumas wrote a cookbook as well, and he had the best 'fro in all of French Literature. Pic related.
