He's got a point though. Chad doesn't waste away in the library reading obscure tomes on retarded arguments, he's out there playing sports and living life and fucking pussy.

Developing the mind of a scholar is nurturing the carefulness and deliberateness of a clerk—or in other words, a slave. A King lives life in a vibrant, explosive rush and his very person and presence is explosive, you can just tell from every fiber of his being.

Tons of people, including tons of very creative people and very smart people, are fucking cowards who lack the strength of their convictions. They may be good at creating beautiful things, but they are cowards, and when push comes to shove they will shuttle themselves into relatively mainstream political and social positions just because they fear standing out, or attracting the ire of others.

Look at how faggy Moldbug has been lately. This is the man who advocated for literal absolute monarchy, but you had him arguing that everyone should vote for Biden. Why? Because he's a coward, and he is afraid of actual change, and the prospect of becoming the target of weaponized ire fundamentally frightens him.

It doesn't help that Moldbug AND Rothfuss AND a ton of the rest of these guys are, fundamentally, nerds. And so many nerds carry the haunting memories of being bullied when they were young, either aggressively or passively, and they'll go to great lengths to avoid having that repeated now that they're adults.

I would rather allow anime images and memes and just ban Pepes and Wojacks, it would probably increase the board's quality.

I mean there really isn't anything else, is there? Joyce wrote four books: Dubliners, Portrait, Ulysses, and Finnegans Wake. He's got the smallest portfolio of any writer in the Canon. Even Dante wrote more shit than Joyce.

Fucking lol, this. /pol/ LARPs just as much every other board on this site. The race war is FINALLY here, and what does /pol/ do? /pol/ cowers in fear behind their computers and talks about the downfall of civilization. What did you fuckers think would happen if there was a violent uprising by a particular race or ethnicity? If you didn't have any plans to deal with it, why did you wish for it in the first place?

This whole fucking year, all of 2020, has basically been God showing /pol/ how stupid they are. They got their Happening, with the coronavirus. They got their Race War. But are they happy with either? No, they're spooked and terrified and they're shitting themselves. /pol/ has always been weak, deep down. They're weak men LARPing as Spartans. When they're faced with real danger, and real peril, and the prospect of real harm or death, they're as cowardly as so many other keyboard warriors have been over the years.

>tfw you realize that America is a Platonic Form that has only ever been dimly represented in the lower world of shadows and reflections

How did the US manage to make itself this divine thing, this Idea? The "Idea" of America will live for centuries after the United States as a nation has crumbled into dust. How many other countries have ever been an "Idea"?

Starting to realize that my writing is irreversibly influenced by all the anime I've watched over the years. There was a thread a little while ago about the influence of anime on literature, and it makes me think about how when I look over my short stories and novels, there's a definite influence from anime. Personality traits, scenarios, even the "mood" some of my stories create often, when I reread them, carries the feeling of influence from anime. It's hard to describe what an "anime feeling" seems like in a written work, I just can't shake the feeling that my own stuff has it.

You know he does kind of have a point. A lot of great works of literature are actually pretty riveting yarns when you think about their actual plots.

Think of the Iliad:
>Huge fucking battle, tenth and final year of the Trojan War, epic clashes between demigods and gods on the battlefield

Or Paradise Lost:
>Titanic scale drama between God, angels, devils, and the first humans, culminates in the extreme drama of the Fall

Or even Hamlet:
>Intense psychological drama of the ultimate human being brooding and murdering his way through five acts culminating in a swordfight

You wouldn't call any of these stories "boring." Sure, they're full of beautiful language, incredibly deep characters, and lots of interesting philosophical discussion. But as actual plots they're pretty riveting, too. We seem to have lost some of that with more modern literature.

Este cíclope, no sicilïano,
del microcosmo sí, orbe postrero;
esta antípoda faz, cuyo hemisfero
zona divide en término italiano;

este círculo vivo en todo plano;
este que, siendo solamente cero,
le multiplica y parte por entero
todo buen abaquista veneciano;

el minóculo sí, mas ciego vulto;
el resquicio barbado de melenas;
esta cima del vicio y del insulto;

éste, en quien hoy los pedos son sirenas,
éste es el culo, en Góngora y en culto,
que un bujarrón le conociera apenas.

So I showed this to a friend and he said I should remove the bit about the smell of piss. I'm afraid if I do that then the reader might not understand that she dies. Is there an alternative I could use or should I just not worry about it and leave it in the story?

She did a lot of fetish videos something that it seems like mainstream pornstars avoid. You have to admit her looks are unusual and she has that throaty voice. I guess I'm biased and don't really know what I'm talking about but I bet Mata Hari and Cleopatra weren't that hot either.

I'm a middlebrow pleb compared to many /lit/ posters but I feel like fucking Milton compared to the people I interact with irl. It's a weird feel, inadequacy, superiority, and shame for feeling both.

When I read SF I feel like I'm wasting my time with "Genre Crap" but when I read literature I sometimes feel bored and wish I was reading SF.

I'm a basement neckbeard.

I have a mouldering reddit account.

I have these strange dreams where I'm snuggling with other men.
