>Thomas Ligotti edition.

Discuss all horror fiction, whether speculative, Romantic, philosophical and whatnot. Who's your favourite horror writer?

>Discuss the first story of Songs of a Dead Dreamer. It reminds me a lot of Gotham's Arkham Asylum, where insane prisoners are constantly feared to break out. It drew me in but the aforementioned aspect left a sour taste in my mouth.

Post charts; recommend horror fiction you enjoy; condemn ones you dislike; talk freely to open up the discourse to something lively and spooky.

Quote of the day:
>This is the great lesson the depressive learns: Nothing in the world is inherently compelling. Whatever may be really “out there” cannot project itself as an affective experience. It is all a vacuous affair with only a chemical prestige. Nothing is either good or bad, desirable or undesirable, or anything else except that it is made so by laboratories inside us producing the emotions on which we live.

>begin talking to her
>she's pretty cool
>find her Instagram account
>find out her last name is Ligotti
>ask her about it
>turns out she's the niece of Thomas Ligotti
How do I not fuck this up?

Weird Fiction is a legitimate genre and Thomas Ligotti is its best author. He is better than Lovecraft ever was.

Kind of interestingly, I'm a huge Ligotti fan, but I don't care for Conspiracy. It lacks all the charm of his prose and comes across as really dry and academic. Then again, I'm a college dropout, so go figure.
