My vocabulary is shit. I mostly read philosophy, and when I read classic fiction, I don't gain any new words. So, how do I increase my vocabulary? What type of books should I be reading?

Hi /lit/, I'm used to reading non fiction books mostly dealing with biology or alike and I have been wanting to read something new but still non fiction. I checked the recommended reading and so far I pulled out "What Matters Most" by Bukowski and "Fear and Loathing" by Thompson. What else would you recommend that's in any way similar to those ?
