It's actually more impressive than I thought it was going to be. I have a feeling that it goes downhill from here though. Is Silence of the Lambs as good?

Is this book any good? I love the show and I want to read the books to know what happens in future seasons but it's really slow and boring from what I've read so far

So we agree this is a better book than Silence of the Lambs right?

Greetings! This is my first time posting on this board. I am an avid reader. I have learned a ton from literature in terms of writing styles and how each type impacts the reader. Recently I have enjoyed finding books where a character has such articulate diction that it has an adverse effect on even how I can look at things. For example, I found a book called "Red Dragon", and the character creates a very insightful metaphor for simple aspects of life.
I have no emotions when it comes to people and their desires in life because I am somewhat of a sociopath. My main goal these days is to separate myself from the stupid people I encounter daily so that anger does not consume me. I used to have a lot of anger issues but literature has helped me a lot. I forced myself to try and become "empathetic" to others by reciprocating examples in the books I read. It is still hard for me to understand the actions people make with little next to zero thought process or why stupid people are allowed to reproduce.. but I am no longer angry at them for being the way they are. Anger for me is dangerous because I honestly would have no problem killing someone. Thankfully literature also calms me down and gives me a way to remain level headed.
How has literature changed your lives? I am new to this board so please do post.
