I know a good amount of people on /lit/ don't like Murakami, but what did everyone think of Kafka on the Shore?

It's been a while since I read it, but I remember liking it a lot. I was thinking about reading it again. And what's up with the japanese and their fascination with magical realism?

I want to read more Murakami, but I can't shake the grumpiness left inside me from the garbled and pointless ending to Kafka on the Shore.

Norweigian Wood was cool, and now I have 1Q84 lying around, but I'm dreading disappointment.

What to do, /lit/?

I just finished this novel and I have to admit that while I greatly enjoyed it, I have no idea what really happened. Would anyone care to explain some details? Like who was Johnny Walker, really? Or what was the connection between Nakata and Miss Saeki?
