>what's expected and what's already on an a priori set of possible answers
Yes, everything is on an a priori set. Things significantly more complex and thoughtful than anything either of us could talk about are on the a priori set. The a priori is all literature ever.
>give it difficult conversations, expect some wrong/nonsensical answers until it gets it
What are "difficult" conversations? Mine praised AJ Ayer's positivism. Is that "easy?" Is 1+1 "difficult?"
I think the fundamental difference is displayed here:
>Yes, but you're not teaching it anything
I am asking for the bot to call upon its knowledge of complex metaphysics, presuming it knows about such things, and then discussing those concepts as an equal. I don't want to teach it anything. On the other hand, you care more about the "teaching" part of a relationship. Again, Rorschach. If you want to be a teacher, you can be a teacher. If you want to be a contemporary, you can be a contemporary.
