You could try adding different-feeling bits between; I've also read that subtext plays a lot into this where you should imagine what your work should "feel" like to the reader and try to emulate that feeling and process with each chapter, kind of like a hidden story.
Like if you wanted your novel's progression to mirror that of a mountain, you should model the feeling of each part corresponding to the part of the trek you're on.

Not to mention that there was an Athena image placed in Troy which got torn down and the woman sheltering there raped IIRC
Thus Athena went apeshit once more upon witness.

bro it wasn't even about simping, Athena was in full-on cunt mode after getting dissed by a sheep herder and blatantly contributed to the deaths of several great heroes both Greek and Trojan.
Then she goes back to sucking Odysseus' dick and /ss/ing his son a decade later for fuck knows reason.

How much do you read a day?
I usually shoot to at least complete a scene in each stage/verse play I'm reading and at least a short story if I'm reading a collection.
Obviously it gets a bit harder to find stopping points in regular novels though I find myself reading less of those nowadays; I usually try to do a bare minimum of 15 minutes reading of longer works and if I fall asleep or have trouble with retention, I'll repeat the same reading the next day.
Once I get near the end of work, though, I binge that shit even if it takes an entire weekend of laying in bed to do it.

The deity's sea swollen fingers finally grasped sand, giving rise to quiet cry that none heard.
After a struggle that brought about the painful dry heaving, she was finally free of the terrible waters that had all but deteriorated her white dress.
Resting for the first time in days since the betrayal, she pondered which sweet maiden she would gift with the duty of designing a new godly attire.
Her eyes, long since closed against the awfully stinging salt, finally softened so that she may look upon the shore of which she'd arrived.
The nightmare continued, however, as she realized it was not a beach but a bar she had tread upon.
And beyond the great gulf that still separated her from shelter shone the golems of Talus, the last of the bronze race.
Death had awaited her in Crete.
And yet, she refused to give her usurpers the victory of desecrating the Athenians' idol before them.
It did not take long to fish a shell from the sands, snapping it beneath her heel.
Tears flowed as she uttered the last prayer, asking for nothing but forgiveness as the jagged edge arrived at her throat.
And the ruined dress became crimson soaked as the reincarnation of Athena passed into the Underworld.
